The Good Ol’ Colonial Days

When I saw “Home Alone” a zillion years ago, I had a tough time buying that they’d forget a kid.

But as an adult, I just want to know how they could afford that amazing brick colonial with 27 kids.

That house! Perfection!

I love an American Colonial.
The simplicity is elegant.

The doorways can be gussied up and become a jaw-dropping focal point.

Big rooms for gathering, fireplaces, lots of windows, and upstairs bedrooms.

Like, THE quintessential family home.

The term comes from (shocker!) colonial settlers.

So the wood, brick, simple structures are a pretty good window into the materials they had as they, well, colonized!

And they aren’t all fancy mansions.

Colonials are popping up even in new construction, now, and some are smaller, more affordable mid-sized options.

But curb appeal is a constant, no matter the size.

So whether you have 27 or 2.7 kids, there’s a colonial for you.

Just please, count the kids.

Count. The. Kids.
