Spark That Spring Joy!

I don’t care what Marie Kondo says, a tidy, organized, clutter-free house just screams…

“No internet connection!”

We all do it, rub the winter blur from our eyes, grab the Lestoil and go nuts.

For three hours.

Then, we get hungry, check Facebook, yadda yadda...and next Spring repeat the ritual.

But tidy is the new Zen. Or the old one. Or something.

Anyway, it’s supposed to bring us calm and happiness, and I don’t know, like inner peace or something...

So I looked up a few tips from the Masters of Tidy, and here’s what I got.

Clean a category,
not a space.

Whaaat? Like, do ALL the baseboards and windowsills.

And move top to bottom, cause...wait for it...GRAVITY! If you do the floors before the tabletops, guess where the dust is going? Back on those floors! So…

Start high, go low.

Keep Hefty bags on you to toss stuff
and “semi-toss” stuff.

Not sure if that tabletop ping-pong game will finally be the source of joy after 7 years on top of the basement fridge? (spoiler alert- it won’t) ...toss it in the “Maybe” bag that will get tied up and not pitched for 6 months!

If you can remember what is in that bag in the fall, you can have it.

If you can’t- don’t open it and toss it to the curb!

Refresh!

Things are dusted and de-cluttered? Change the sheets, swap out throw pillows and blankets, and splurge on a bunch of tulips.

You have officially Spring cleaned.

Or Spring Clunged.

Or Spring Plunged..?

Whatever.. ? Uhm yes!

Just do NOT pour that glass of Chardonnay until the inflatable Santa is back in the garage.

Don’t even think about it.
