Queen Anne? Meet MLK, Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was no less than an idol, icon, and inspiration.

A LEGEND.

So where did such an American hero grow up?

Most know he was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia.

But, I’m in real estate. And I wanted to know about the HOUSE!

It actually was the house his mother grew up in, and when she married his father, they made it their family home.

A two-story Queen Anne!

And a home good enough for MLK, Jr. is worth knowing about!

Queen Anne’s are often confused with Victorians, but unlike Victorians they tend to be asymmetrical, have steep, pitched roofs, and can be as small as a one-story,

or as big as a two or three story home!

They’re commonly adorned and decorated with zillions of details.

Stained glass windows,

ornate trim,

wrap-around porches…

But what I love is that they can be grand and jaw-dropping,

or modest and sublime.

Yeah, I said it.

Sublime.

Either way, I kinda love how such a great man didn’t grow up in a shack or a castle, but a perfectly regal, yet humble abode!

I know it was four days ago, but I’m totally going two weeks with MLK blogs this month!

My blog, my rules!

But, look it up, and maybe even learn more about the man.

The. Man!
