Sure, we’ve all been on a haunted hayride. Dark and spooky, riding through the woods, sipping hot cider until, “Argh!” a mummy pops out or bats drop down from the trees.
Ooh. The terror.
Puh. Leeze. Child’s play.
Think you’re tough enough for a real haunted house?
How about a haunted Big House?
As in, prison?
As in, The Ohio State Reformatory.
Go on! For $25 you can actually visit—AT NIGHT—125 year-old reformatory-turned maximum security prison that is gigantic, has a room called “The Hole,” and is as haunted as Casper is friendly.
You may remember seeing it in the movie, “The Shawshank Redemption” or a handful of others.
It’s an adorable backdrop.
But, it’s just a building, right? What’s the worst that could happen?
The woman, Chris Woodyard, who literally wrote the book, Haunted Ohio, said she tried to walk the corridor between the wall and the cells…
But the walls held horrific energy and she didn’t dare touch them. But the cells had ghostly hands REACHING OUT for her as she passed. So she tried to keep her path between the walls and the hands.
And that was during the daytime. She says she will never go after dark.
And she WROTE the book on haunted places in Ohio.
You can buy your tickets to “Blood Prison” for a Halloween adventure.
What a romantic date.
If you’re going steady with Lizzie Borden.
