In 2021, I bought a small house in Stow planning on flipping it and selling it with a friend.
Nothing was coming together quite right with the project, it stalled, and I felt frustrated that this hadn't gone according to plan.
But you know what they say, when one door closes,
an Airbnb opens...
Ok, maybe that's not the original saying, but it's exactly what happened with this little house!
So the next year, I'm sitting on a property I didn't know what to do with, and I take a trip to Nashville.
I stayed at The Graduate, and their rooftop bar, The White Limozeen, was all the inspiration I needed.
The space was decked out in Dolly Parton.
I couldn't get it out of my head.
I wanted to bring that fun,
exaggerated style back home with me, and…
The Aunt Granny idea was born.
Who wouldn't love an over-the-top Airbnb dedicated to the queen of country?
One of my best friends, Elianna Witschey and I had often discussed investing in properties together, and when she said she wanted to be a part of this project I jumped at the opportunity.
Bringing the concept I had to life was much more of a challenge than I had anticipated, but aren't all the best things?
We made it through all the frustrations and setbacks, and I can't tell you how much it meant to share all the steps along the way with you guys.
Having a whole community of people cheering me on throughout the process made the hard moments a lot more bearable.
Anyone who has ever done renovations can understand that the struggle is real.
